Jake Bugg has shared some of the results of the recording sessions he’s been undertaking in Los Angeles with Andrew Watt having recently signed a new record deal with RCA.

Kiss Like The Sun has been unveiled ahead of the UK shows in Nottingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and London which are due to start in a few days’ time, when more new material is expected to be on show. Bugg says:

“I love working with Andrew Watt and I’m really pleased with the sound of this track. I wanted to write something that was fun and a bit light-hearted.”

Kiss Like The Sun should be geared towards a fifth studio album for Bugg, following Hearts That Strain of 2017. “The rockabilly tendencies of Bugg’s early work seem to have mellowed into a more classic sound,” Live4ever’s review reads. “Not even alt-country like all the kids are doing these days; this is the proper stuff. There’s hints of Merle Haggard or Conway Twitty and so on. Very slight hints, but hints nonetheless.”

Tour dates:

November
16 – Nottingham, Rock City
17 – Glasgow, Barrowland Ballroom
19 – Leeds, O2 Academy
20 – Manchester, Academy
21 – London, Roundhouse
