“We’ve always wanted to write a song about our bond as sisters,” Danielle Haim has said after the premiere of another new Haim single.

Hallelujah was co-written with Tobias Jesso Jr., and follows on from Now I’m In It which was shared last month when it was described by the band as being about ‘going through it, depression, not leaving the house type of shit’.

“Even when we’re writing about something dark or more serious, we like to tie it up in a bow so that there’s a bit of lightness to it,” Este added. “We want our music, and this song especially, to be the thing that helps you get through that rough time.”

Hallelujah was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim and has a video directed by their frequent collaborator Paul Thomas Anderson.
