Boy Azooga are back with new music after the release of their debut 1, 2, Kung Fu! last year – one of Live4ever’s albums of 2018.
O Silly Me is described as a song ‘about worry: written when worried that might hopefully ease some worry for other worriers’, and drift softly in with a couple of UK arena dates supporting Liam Gallagher, festival appearances and a headline gig at YES in Manchester coming up before the end of the year.
“The early morning peace is shattered immediately, however, on Loner Boogie; a glorious salute to the in-the-kitchen oddballs who make life either richer or more dangerous, with a strong-arm, nervous riff and revved up distortion made big just to make a pointless f*****g point,” our 1, 2, Kung Fu! review reads.
“Breathless, we then segue into another mood map on Face Behind Her Cigarette, a maudlin piece of synth pop that splits the difference between the two songs before it, avoiding the trap of having to bother explaining itself and being just what it is.”
