Pretty Vicious will come to an end after their December UK shows, the three remaining bandmates have revealed.

Those three – Elliot Jones, Jarvis Morgan and Tom McCarthy – have been pressing on without their frontman Brad Griffiths for some time, but have now said they intend to reemerge next year ‘under a new guise and with another singer’.

“It is with heavy hearts that we have decided that the band cannot continue on the emotional rollercoaster we have been riding for the last five years,” a social media statement begins. “Events since we finished the album have meant that we could not promote the album which we are so proud of.”

“For all the highs and lows, trials and tribulations there are basic functions that a band need to be able to carry out, and we haven’t been able to do that. As a result, the relationship within the band has fractured beyond repair.”

It sure has been a rollercoaster ride for Pretty Vicious since they emerged back in 2015 with some raucous, hugely promising early singles. Label politics delayed a debut album until this summer, but any hopes that Beauty Of Youth would signal a fresh start for the band had already begun to fade by the time of its release.

For all the highs and lows, trials and tribulations there are basic functions that a band need to be able to carry out, and we haven’t been able to do that. As a result, the relationship within the band has fractured beyond repair. We have come to the conclusion that we all need to move on unencumbered by the baggage attached to Pretty Vicious and re-surface in 2020 like a phoenix from the ashes under a new guise and with another singer. The three shows in December will be the last under the name Pretty Vicious. Thank you to all of our fans for their support over the years. Us three will see you in 2020 with a whole new project! (Already got a bunch of new songs ready to go)!!! Elliot, Jarvis & Tom x
