The reissue of Primal Scream‘s early single Velocity Girl is new in at number one on the UK Vinyl Singles Chart.

Released as part of the band’s Maximum Rock’n’Roll campaign, it immediately leads last week’s chart topper, DJ by David Bowie, with Liam Gallagher’s recent solo single Shockwave at #3.

Reflecting the surge in popularity of the traditional format, dedicated vinyl album and singles charts were launched by the Official Charts Company in 2016 with the singles chart compiled from sales of 7″ and 12″ records.
