Now with a Mercury Prize nomination secured for their debut album Dogrel, the unflinching rise of Fontaines D.C. is continuing with news of their biggest headline show to-date.

It’ll come on February 25th next year at the Brixton Academy in London, and is confirmed as the band take an enforced break from touring due to health issues. “This message is difficult to communicate to all of you,” a statement released last week read. “Due to health issues we find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of having to cancel the following festivals: Paleo Nyon Festival (CH), Truck Festival (UK), Deer Shed Festival (UK), Y Not Festival (UK) and Thing Festival (USA).”

“We want to make sure that everyone knows that performing is one of the most important and fulfilling parts of all of our lives, and we will do all in our power to ensure that none of our tours are affected by this.”

“We apologise to all of you who were looking forward to attending these festivals. We look forward to seeing you at all the remaining dates this summer.”
