Last Saturday’s (May 25th) line-up at All Points East in London promised to be one of the biggest anywhere in the world during this summer’s festival season, but it seems some of those in attendance were left to witness the closing events of the day drift softly into the Victoria Park skies.

Amidst complaints of sound problems (All Points East not being the first big outdoor event this month to suffer these accusations) during The Strokes‘ headline set, organisers released an apologetic statement on social media which insisted they did as much as possible to solve the issues. “Thank you to The Strokes for joining us last night for a truly incredible show,” it reads.

“The sound quality at our shows has been of a consistently high standard since we started All Points East in 2018 and we were disappointed to learn that there was a sound issue in some areas of the site during The Strokes’ set.”

“The sound engineers worked hard to address the problem as quickly as possible and, whilst it improved, we regret that a section of the audience didn’t have the audio experience that we expect for them.”

Performing before The Strokes on that bumper day were The Raconteurs, Interpol, Parquet Courts, Courtney Barnett, Johnny Marr and Jarvis Cocker.
