Editors have offered up more of their Blanck Mass Sessions which was released on Record Store Day last week.

It was out as a limited edition colour vinyl and will now get a general release on May 3rd, and the band have shared Hallelujah (So Low) for those who didn’t beat the queues on April 13th.

The Blanck Mass Sessions album can be traced back to 2017 when, looking for an alternative take on their earliest Violence tapes, Editors invited Benjamin John Power, aka Blanck Mass, to do with them what he pleased. Once he returned, the results were handed over to producer Leo Abrahams with the task of pulling both sides together.

“When we initially approached Ben to work with us on Violence we gave him free reign to do whatever he wanted,” frontman Tom Smith has explained.

“It seemed stupid to try and instill any boundaries or direction to him as he has such a singular, authored sound to everything he puts his hand to. So we left him to it. The results of that process being this release. A very visceral version of our album Violence.”
