BBC 6Music Festival in Liverpool for 2019 with Idles, Anna Calvi, Fontaines D.C.

Liverpool has been picked to host the 2019 edition of BBC 6Music Festival.

As always, a brilliant cast of the UK radio station’s regulars have agreed to perform, with The Good, The Bad & The Queen, Anna Calvi, Jon Hopkins, Hot Chip, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Ex:Re, Little Simz, Bodega, Gang Of Four, Villagers, Idles, Slowthai, Fontaines D.C., The Cinematic Orchestra, Chali 2na & Krafty Kuts, Jungle and Marika Hackman all on the bill.

The event will take place between March 29th-31st, and was launched today at Bluecoat in the city with guests The Coral, Stealing Sheep and Amina Atiq on Mary-Anne Hobbs’ show. The DJ said:

“Ever since The Beatles came together as teenagers in 1957 and changed the musical landscape for all time, Liverpool has been a city that has inspired generations of musicians. I’m excited that we have a chance at the 6 Music Festival to explore the Liverpool scene in 2019.”
