Boston Calling organisers have invited Tame Impala, Janelle Monáe, Shame, Christine & The Queens, Pale Waves and more to perform at their 10th anniversary.

Twenty One Pilots and Travis Scott are two of the other leading confirmed acts for the Harvard Athletic Complex between May 24th-26th.

Tame Impala’s place on the bill comes after their headline confirmation for Coachella had Kevin Parker on social media promising that 2019 would also bring ‘new sounds’ for the band, pointing towards a first studio album since 2015’s Currents – one described as a ‘creative and artistic triumph‘ by Live4ever:

“The album’s dark and bouncing thematic closer ‘New Person, Same Old Mistakes‘ admits that a personal metamorphosis should be met with some doubt. The track’s cathartic bridge drops in out of nowhere, and proves that Parker has taken a leap not only as a songwriter, but as a producer as well.”

“The production is intricate and unified, every sound is precisely placed, making for a glorious listen on headphones, but these grooves are meant to be felt out on the dance-floor.”
