Kyle Falconer has released a covers EP after the success of last year’s debut solo album No Thank You.

The Almost Pleasant EP is being led by Falconer’s take on What’s Love Got To Do With It and also includes Black Eyes, Blue Tears, Go Your Own Way, You’ve Got A Friend In Me and Four Seasons In One Day.

It was recorded in Thailand and is available digitally now with a Spotify stream due from February 8th. “I’ve just loved this song since I was a child,” he’s said of What’s Love Got To Do With It.

“I’ve always known that it was partly composed by Graham Lyle who is a fellow Scot and inspired me as a child to write songs myself. I just thought it would be apt for a Scottish vocalist to put a different spin on it. I hope I’ve done it justice.”

Falconer picked up the Scottish Album Of Year award for No Thank You last month, and was among Live4ever’s top picks of the year after our review praised the album as ‘one about a person, people and the simple poetry of life itself‘.
