Idles have joined the previously confirmed Cure, Robyn and Sigrid at next year’s Øya Festival.

Big Thief and Farao are two more new names for the event which will be held in Oslo between August 6th-10th 2019 as Idles press on with their defining second studio album Joy As An Act Of Resistance. We caught its world tour in Leeds not long ago, witnessing a performance ‘part Sinatra, part steamroller, wholly unstoppable‘:

“Cry To Me is one of the most insane and inspired covers in history, the live setting only sharpening this point. Idles have taken a classic slice of sultry soul and turned it into something deeper, more powerful”

“They’ve not taken the soul out, but have instead transported the lovers’ yearning into the heart of a fighter. Well Done will probably become Mary Berry’s most lasting legacy if Idles have anything to do about it.”

Idles featured prominently when Live4ever’s Best Of 2018 series got underway this week – check out our Tracks of the year list right here.
