Mumford & Sons promised a groundbreaking production featuring a ‘stage right across the middle of the room’ when they detailed their world tour dates behind new album Delta last month, but it’s all too ambitious for Liverpool, Cardiff, Sheffield and Manchester to host the band as originally scheduled.

‘Unforeseen technical and logistical challenges’ have been blamed for shows in those cities being postponed, with the new dates in 2019 set to be revealed ‘very soon’. “As you may know, the Delta tour is by far the most ambitious show we’ve put together and we have had to free up some space in the schedule to be able to execute it, given some obstacles that have come up in production,” they’ve said on social media.

“The truth is that it is simply not humanly possible to play these particular shows at this time and we are really sorry the reality of that only truly landed after we completed Belfast yesterday (November 18th).”
