After returning with new material earlier this month in the form of the Autonomy EP, Drenge have now confirmed their long-awaited full length follow-up to 2015’s Undertow.

Its confirmation is here after ‘months of chiselling away, ripping themes and ideas apart, sewing them back together, stepping away and coming back with fresh ears’, the Loveless brothers say.

”Sometimes, a song appears fully formed and ready to go, and sometimes, a song just needs time to ferment. Fine tuning small details, nipping between songs, picking out small things and accentuating them until they take over or become something else entirely.”

“It’s a nocturnal record. A psychological horror movie on wax. Warped hallucinations from mundane observations as you move through it. Is that a school or a skyscraper on fire in the distance? Or maybe it’s just the ski village?”

Strange Creatures will be toured next spring, UK dates opening at the Glasgow Garage on March 27th with visits to Newcastle, Manchester, Cambridge, London, Portsmouth, Bristol and Birmingham in the diary thereafter.

Tour dates:

March
27 – Glasgow, Garage
28 – Newcastle, Northumbria Institute
29 – Manchester, Ritz

April
1 – Cambridge, Junction
2 – London, Electric Brixton
3 – Portsmouth, Pyramids
5 – Bristol, SWX
