Muse have been as good as their word and have confirmed the new album Simulation Theory for release on November 9th.

The announcement concludes a year of occasional single releases, with Something Human and Thought Contagion both set for inclusion on the LP.

Slaves will stay for an extra night in Glasgow during their UK and Ireland tour which runs throughout November.

There’s now two shows coming up at Glasgow Barrowlands, on November 8th and 9th. Appearances at Reading and Leeds last weekend came at the end of a series of in-store UK shows to mark the release of the duo’s new album Act Of Fear And Love.

The Coral have premiered their video for Reaching Out For A Friend, taken from the band’s latest album Move Through The Dawn.

Directed by Dom Foster, it features artwork from drummer Ian Skelly, who says: ““I’’ve been making animation videos with Dom Foster for a few years now. “I hand drew all the characters and Dom brought them to life. I hope everyone loves it as much as we do.””

Anna Calvi has posted the brand new track As A Man with her Hunter album due tomorrow.

This video is joined by one for the previous single and title-track, both of which were directed by Matt Lambert. “If a woman wants to be powerful she’s expected to exhibit ‘male’ traits,” she contends.

Franz Ferdinand will ring in the new year at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations for the start of 2019.

Metronomy and Free Love provide the support on the evening. “We’re super excited with the line-up for the Concert in the Gardens at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay,” directors Charlie Wood and Ed Bartlam have said.

Frightened Rabbit will play their first gig since the death of Scott Hutchison at the end of this year.

Grant Hutchison has revealed an appearance at the Sleep In The Park event in December – to be staged at Kelvingrove Bandstand in Glasgow – was arranged before the passing of his brother and bandmate in May.

Razorlight have confirmed the details of their new studio album Olympus Sleeping.

Now well moved on from the aborted budget Fistful Of Dollars Am-dram phase, the band have set their first record since 2008’s Slipway Fires for release on October 26th.

The Twilight Sad have posted the video for their new single I/m Not Here [missing face], directed by Brendan Jay Smith.

“When Andy and I came across the footage, we both immediately felt that it was the right fit for ‘I/m Not Here [hidden face]’,” the director has revealed.
