Paul Weller and Pale Waves have albums out today on New Music Friday – have a listen to both right here on Live4ever via Spotify.

Weller’s latest solo effort True Meanings is another guest-laden affair, featuring contributions from longtime buddy Noel Gallagher as well as the likes of Conor O’Brien, Martin Carthy and Lucy Rose.

Pale Waves, meanwhile, have been particularly prolific with singles and EP releases during the long build-up to their debut LP My Mind Makes Noises, which Live4ever summed up as a record that, ‘for those in that 17-22 age range in 2018, will be held close to their hearts for the rest of their lives‘:

“The heartbreak goes further on final track Karl (I Wonder What It’s Like To Die). Presumably to a family member, it’s a gut-wrenching ode. ‘Sometimes you cross my mind…that’s a lie, you’re on my mind all the time’. Otherwise, there’s not much deviation from the source material of affairs of the heart, but it’s well-ploughed turf for a reason, and in Pale Waves’ hands it’s never boring, in fact, rarely has it been so evocative.”
