It was back in April when The Libertines were offered the chance to not only headline the Wheels & Fins Festival but to curate their entire day’s line-up as well.

That line-up has now been confirmed, with Echo & The Bunnymen perhaps the biggest name on the bill for September 9th. Also heading to Joss Bay Beach in Broadstairs, Kent are Reverend & The Makers, Cabbage, Chas & Dave, Mic Righteous, Lock and Zuzu.

After 11 years, Shaun Keaveny will be getting a few more hours of sleep with plans afoot for him to leave BBC 6Music‘s Breakfast Show in the new year.

From January 2019, current morning presenter Lauren Laverne will assume that role, with Keaveny taking over weekday afternoons from Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie who move to the Weekend Breakfast Show.

Idles, Shame and Young Fathers are among the nominees for this year’s AIM Independent Music Awards.

Shortly before the release of their second album, Idles have been nominated in categories including Best Live Act and Best Video, while Shame’s debut record Songs Of Praise is up for the Independent Album Of The Year prize.

The Joy Formidable have picked The Wrong Side as the next single from their fourth studio album AAARTH.

“This is our second collaboration with TRLLM,” says Ritzy Bryan of the official video. “We love their imagination and, like all our favourite artists, they’re not afraid to make it weird.”

The Jesus & Mary Chain will begin recording a new album after their live dates in North America with Nine Inch Nails.

Jim Reid gave the update to Consequence Of Sound, revealing that the band are ‘thinking of doing a new album soon after this tour, that will be the next thing we do’. He added that they’ll look to write brand new material for the record, but may also lay down ‘some songs we’ve had knocking about for a while’.

Ahead of the release of their new album Family Of Aliens on September 7th, Teleman have premiered a video for its latest track Song For A Seagull.

Frontman Tom Sanders has said it, ‘explores the idea of doing everything you can to escape on your own to somewhere far away, somewhere better, but then having no one to experience it with’. “The person is present but absent, they are miles away,” he continued. “They don’t belong in the world.”

Slaves have unveiled the details of a UK and Ireland tour which will take place after the release of their new album Acts Of Fear And Love on August 17th.

With in-store UK shows coming around release time, the tour has been confirmed to open in Newcastle on November 7th, and will make its sole stop in Ireland on the 13th at Dublin’s Academy venue.
