The Blinders will headline the BBC Music Introducing Stage at this month’s Reading/Leeds Festival.

The band will top the stage on the Friday in Reading and Saturday in Leeds, leading more BBC Introducing bands which include Fizzy Blood, Beach Riot, Malika, The Baskervilles, Stereo Honey, Litany and Sun Arcana. “Playing at Reading and Leeds is a huge deal for everyone,” BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens says.

“The BBC Music Introducing stage is a platform for new artists, so to play it during the weekend stays with the bands for ever. This year is promising to be another great one!”

The Blinders are preparing to release their debut album Columbia on September 21st, recorded at Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton with producer Gavin Monaghan. “Welcome to Columbia,” they’ve said.

“We invite you to open the gates to this new world and indulge in drudgery under absolute autocracy, served to you on a plastic tray. Johnny Dream skulks the streets as the factories fabricate their meat. The powers that be call for his head. Daddy told me it’s us and them.”
