A Kinks reunion had seemed tantalisingly close after amicable meetings between Ray and Dave Davies in the summer of 2013.

That was until the equally volatile relationship between Dave and drummer Mick Avory apparently reared its head and butted the plans in touch by the end of 2014. However, in a new interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News, Ray Davies has appeared to suggest he’s got the two warring old friends to shake hands.

AAARTH is the title of The Joy Formidable‘s fourth studio album, and will be released on September 28th.

Following on from last month’s Dance Of The Lotus, new track The Wrong Side has been shared after receiving its first play on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Huw Stephens. “With life not always being that kind, you can either go down a really dark hole or you can smear yourself with colour and reverie and try to forget,” believes singer Ritzy Bryan.

As the weather gods had a good old laugh at our expense by bathing the UK in a heatwave during what would have been Glastonbury week, bookies were turning their attention to the likely headliners for the festival’s return in 2019.

Betway have made Led Zeppelin their 2/1 favourites for a return at Worthy Farm next year, despite Robert Plant’s constant refusal to entertain the idea of a reunion.

Morrissey‘s July UK tour, just recently built around the two outdoor shows at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester, has been postponed.

A statement from the singer’s management blames ‘logistical circumstances beyond our control’ for the latest of his tours to get disrupted. “We deeply regret any inconvenience to the fans and promise to reschedule UK and European dates as soon as possible,” it continues.

Catfish & The Bottlemen‘s latest hefty UK show will be at the SSE Wembley Arena in London on November 2nd.

It adds to some big live outings the band have been enjoying during 2018 – which are due to continue next month at Benicassim in Spain – shows made possible by the continued success of their most recent studio album The Ride.

A collection of Joe Strummer‘s work away from The Clash will be released by Ignition Records on September 28th.

The 32 tracks which make up Joe Strummer 001 include recordings with the 101ers, The Mescaleros, solo albums, soundtrack work and 12 previously unreleased songs – one of these being a 1975 cassette tape demo recorded at 101 Elgin Avenue.

Noel Gallagher will play the O2 Ritz in Manchester for the first time on Wednesday, July 18th.

Tickets go on-sale from July 4th for the one-off Absolute Radio gig, which settles in right at the heart of a month of festival and outdoor headline appearances for the High Flying Birds.

Roger Waters, Robert Plant and Stereophonics will receive gongs at the 2018 O2 Silver Clef Awards on July 6th.

Both Waters and Plant are being recognised with the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Award for their contribution to music, while Stereophonics will get their hands on the American Express Icon Award.
