Sleaford Mods in Leeds (Gary Mather for Live4ever)

Sleaford Mods are back with a new, self-titled EP to be released on September 14th.

Containing five tracks including lead-off Stick In A Five And Go, it’s their first new music since last year’s English Tapas album and comes with plans for two nights at the London Roundhouse on September 21st and 22nd, as well as a show at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on September 30th.

“The lead tracks are mostly full of violent tendencies that only transpire through imagination,” Jason Williamson says.

“People are powerless under the political monster and the intense anger and frustration morphs into illusions of attacking each other through the bravado of social media, depression and paranoia.”

In our review, we said English Tapas, ‘isn’t different because it’s the first album the pair have produced using a studio, or that it’s the first Sleaford Mods album to come out on a prominent label (Rough Trade). If anything the difference is that it carries with it a harder, serrated edge’.

Sleaford Mods EP tracklist:

Stick In A Five And Go
Bang Someone Out
Gallows Hill
Dregs
Joke Shop
