Ray Davies hints The Kinks have reunited

A Kinks reunion had seemed tantalisingly close after amicable meetings between Ray and Dave Davies in the summer of 2013.

That was until the equally volatile relationship between Dave and drummer Mick Avory apparently reared its head and butted the plans in touch by the end of 2014.

However, in a new interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News, Ray Davies has appeared to suggest he’s got the two warring old friends to shake hands, and even hinted that he’s using the tension in the studio to record new music with one of Britain’s best ever bands. “The trouble is, the two remaining members – my brother Dave and Mick – never got along very well,” he said.

“But I’ve made that work in the studio and it’s fired me up to make them play harder, and with fire.”

Ray Davies is currently promoting the latest chapter of his Americana series, with the Our Country: Americana Act II album due for release on Friday.
