As the weather gods have a good old laugh at our expense by bathing the UK in a heatwave during what would have been Glastonbury week, bookies have been turning their attention to the likely headliners for the festival’s return in 2019.

Betway have made Led Zeppelin their 2/1 favourites for a return at Worthy Farm next year, despite Robert Plant’s constant refusal to entertain the idea of a reunion.

“Emily Eavis has previously spoken about her dream of getting Led Zeppelin to headline Glastonbury, and this year the odds suggest there’s a good chance of that becoming a reality at 2/1,” a spokesman is quoted as saying.

“Fallow years are always hot for stirring headline rumours and over the last few months punters have begun to latch onto the likes of Fleetwood Mac at 3/1, as well as The Beach Boys and The Stone Roses at 4/1.”

There’s rumours elsewhere that Madonna could top the bill, while Betway has also thrown Elton John and Kendrick Lamar into the ring.
