The View‘s frontman Kyle Falconer has stepped out on his own with a debut solo single entitled Poor Me.

The track takes its name from the Alcoholics Anonymous mantra ‘poor me, poor me, pour me another drink’, something which Falconer has gone into more detail on:

“Every day you get triggers and traumas stuck in your head, and you’re hearing all of these horrible stories. You want to hear it, but at the same time you’re thinking, ‘I’m here to help myself but I’ve got to listen to everyone else’s story.’ It’s quite hard to hear, and I was thinking that a lot of these people were worse off than me.”

Aside from the drums which were performed by Scott Duffy, Falconer worked alone on the track at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studio.
