Asylums will begin a run of free gigs at the Roadhouse venue in London tomorrow night aimed at averting the venue’s closure.

“Covent Garden’s The Roadhouse is another of Central London’s live music venues under threat,” the band have said on Facebook.

“It’s essential that these gig spots are kept alive to keep the capital’s live music scene alive. The venue is under pressure from the landlord and the council so we’ve signed up to play one of the support gigs the venue is running.”

Among the other artists who’ll be performing there during the coming weeks are Gabi Garbutt, China Bowls and The Wholls, as they lend their support to a campaign aimed at saving the Roadhouse from redevelopers.

Tuesday’s gig will also give Asylums fans the chance to sample the band’s forthcoming second album Alien Human Emotions, which is due for release on July 6th.
