Liam Gallagher has joined brother Noel as a headliner at the BBC’s Biggest Weekend event – though they will still be separated by 24 hours and a good few hundred miles.

Liam will top the Coventry leg, at War Memorial Park, on May 27th, with UB40 and Paloma Faith also joining that bill. Noel, meanwhile, is headlining Scone Palace in Perth, Scotland the day before. The 6Music edition at Titanic Slipways in Belfast has Underworld, Manic Street Preachers, Beck, Courtney Barnett and Public Service Broadcasting on the line-up.

When his appearance was announced on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 show this morning, Liam Gallagher teased that is represents he and his brother ‘getting closer and closer’, and that ‘we’re going to collide one day and who knows what will happen?’.

Both Liam and Noel are out touring their respective new solo albums As You Were and Who Built The Moon?.
