Walter Martin of The Walkmen shares new solo track Ride Down The Avenue

The Walkmen‘s Walter Martin has continued the build-up to his next solo album with the release of a new song entitled Ride Down The Avenue.

Reminisce Bar & Grill is due on February 16th and has previously been described by the multi-instrumentalist as his ‘mid-life crisis album’. “These days my friends and I all seem to be thinking the same dark thoughts – ‘What the hell am I doing? What the hell’s going on? I’m lost. I’m running out of time and I’m doing everything wrong. And I’m probably dying’,” he added. “This is definitely an insane period but most of the time I kind of love it.”

“I wanted this album to be an entertaining discussion of marriage, fatherhood, work, fear, and weakness. I’m definitely influenced by Woody Allen movies. No matter how serious or romantic or dark his story may be, there’s always a strong undercurrent of comedy.”

The LP was recorded at various locations in Brooklyn as well as Richard Swift’s National Freedom Studio in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
