Dead Alive has been shared from the alternative version of The Shins‘ Heartworms album which will be released later this month.
The new ‘flipped’ edition is due on January 16th and will feature updated takes of every track which featured on The Shins’ 2017 record. It was their first since 2012 and the generally positive response it received just about backed up James Mercer’s early hopes. “I think we’ve got something that Shins fans will really love, and I think there are some other things on there that are different enough,” he told KBOO 90.7 pre-release.
“I made a concerted effort on some songs to fit the palette, to use the palette that I’ve historically used for the band.”
