Embrace at the Liverpool Olympia (Gary Mather for Live4ever)
Embrace have released their new single Never, taken from the album Love Is A Basic Need which is out on March 2nd.
The track is a duet between Danny McNamara and Kerri Watt, and is one of the frontman’s ‘favourite lyrics’.
“We always heard it as a natural duet between two people who have very different takes on the same fraught situation – fighting for a toxic relationship and never giving up because they can’t imagine being with anyone else,” he continues.
“It sounds like a love song but ‘I will never be the one who backs out’ in this context almost feels like a threat. When Kerri agreed to sing on it we thought we’d really caught something.”
