Noel Gallagher is out on his own with a record tenth straight UK number one album after his third High Flying Birds LP Who Built The Moon? hit the top spot last week.

Gallagher now has three solo number ones to go with his seven as part of Oasis.

Entertainment retailer HMV is expecting another year-on-year rise, this time to the tune of 31%, in UK vinyl sales by the end of this year.

Liam Gallagher‘s As You Were already has the biggest first week sales on vinyl in 20 years, and with Ed Sheeran still shifting puzzling amounts of his latest record Divide, and Noel Gallagher joining the party last week with his third solo album Who Built The Moon?, HMV is hoping for a grand total for 2017 of a size not seen since the late eighties.

More acts have been added to the two-stage event at London’s Finsbury Park which will be headlined by Queens Of The Stone Age on June 30th next year.

Liam Gallagher is due to play a similar set-up the day before, but it’s QOTSA’s bill which is starting to take shape, and joining Iggy Pop, Run The Jewels and The Hives are Deap Vally, Black Honey and Skinny Girl Diet.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will head up a stellar bill in London next spring.

As part of All Points East, the Bad Seeds are set to lead Patti Smith, St. Vincent and Courtney Barnett at Victoria Park on June 3rd.

Field Music have picked Count It Up as the first single from their new album Open Here, and immediately have plenty to say about the UK’s current political climate.

The Libertines have been signed up for next year’s Victorious Festival, which is due to be held at the Southsea Seafront in Portsmouth between August 24th-26th.

Also playing the opening night are Shed Seven, Kaiser Chiefs and The Lightning Seeds.

Stereophonics have joined the bill for next year’s TRNSMT Festival.

With Liam Gallagher already confirmed to lead The Courteeners, Wolf Alice and J Hus at the event on June 30th, the Welsh band have been signed up for the previous day, June 29th, as have The Script, James Bay and Jessie J.

The Holloways are planning a bigger comeback after playing an acoustic show earlier this year.

They will play the Nambucca venue in London on December 21st, with support from Bless, Pink Hotel and Gemma Rogers & The Mil Men, their first full-band outing since splitting in 2011.

Morrissey has posted a video for his latest Low In High-School single Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up On The Stage.

There’s no currently suspended footballers in this cut, but it is notable if for nothing else than the fact that Morrissey is able to mime along despite having his tongue lodged so firmly in his cheek.
