Noel Gallagher is out on his own with a record tenth straight UK number one album after his third High Flying Birds LP Who Built The Moon? hit the top spot yesterday.

Gallagher now has three solo number ones to go with his seven as part of Oasis, an unbroken run of studio albums not only reaching the summit in the UK, but debuting there. As the OCC points out, it also marks the rare feat of siblings both separately scoring number ones after Liam Gallagher raced to the top back in October with his maiden solo effort As You Were.

“She Taught Me How To Fly too is recognisably vintage Noel Gallagher album track territory, this time a dream-like vibe setting it apart, gorgeously accentuated by vocals pushed right to the front of the mix, and which are absolutely perfect for songs such as this,” Live4ever’s Who Built The Moon? review reads.

“The groove really gets going on Be Careful What You Wish For, which stands out for the departure in songwriting rather than mere production, Holmes this time able to take a back seat as Gallagher does all the work on a track which loops around a bass line and intangible backing vocals in a way he’s never attempted before.”
