Barely a month after the Manic Street Preachers bass player said the 2013/14 one-two of Rewind The Film and Futurology had ‘sapped them of their creative juices’, the band have duly confirmed a brand new studio album for release next year.

Liam Gallagher has added a gig in Manchester to his 2018 outdoor shows.

With a two-stage event set for Finsbury Park in London on June 29th next year already sold-out, and concerts at Dublin’s Malahide Castle and Belfast’s Ormeau Park also booked for that month, the former Oasis frontman has now arranged an outing at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester for August 18th.

Alt-J have created another short film for a track taken from their recent Relaxer album.

Pleader is one of many glorious cuts from the record, and is the latest to be given a cinematic promo. It’s courtesy of director Isaiah Seret and was fittingly inspired by the Richard Llewellyn novel How Green Was My Valley?.

Little Comets have detailed more UK tour dates.

The band, who have most recently been out on the road supporting The Pigeon Detectives’ anniversary tour, will play headline dates throughout April 2018, opening at Nottingham Rescue Rooms.

Mike Skinner will now be Ireland and mainland Europe on his Streets greatest hits tour prior to the previously announced UK dates.

Gigs in Dublin, Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris have been arranged for the week leading up to the start of the UK tour in Birmingham on April 19th, 2018.

The second official single from Noel Gallagher‘s upcoming third solo album Who Built The Moon? has been premiered.

It’s A Beautiful World got its live debut on Later…With Jools Holland last month, and is now following on from lead track Holy Mountain and the additional teaser Fort Knox.

Florence & The Machine and The xx were the star attractions of last week’s Melt Festival announcement.

The German event has begun to shape its line-up for Ferropolis, Germany between July 13th-15th next year, with Tyler The Creator, Jon Hopkins and Cigarettes After Sex some of the other confirmed acts.

Denmark’s Roskilde Festival has released its first names for 2018.

The biggest of those are Gorillaz and David Byrne, while Stormzy, Fleet Foxes, Slaves and First Aid Kit are some of the others confirmed for the week-long event next spring.

Organisers of the Neighbourhood festival have unveiled Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Courteeners as headliners for their Weekender offshoot which was announced earlier this month.

Taking place at Victoria Park in Warrington, the event will be topped by The Courteeners on May 26th and Gallagher on the 27th.
