The nominations for this year’s Welsh Music Prize have been revealed.

Gruff Rhys is one of the leading names on the shortlist with his Set Fire To The Stars soundtrack, while Sweet Baboo’s Wild Imagination and H Hawkline’s I Romanticize are two more to have made the cut.

“It’s been a strong year for albums in Wales,” the award’s co-creator Huw Stephens has said.

“This shortlist reflects that and we can’t wait to find out which album the judges choose. The Welsh Music Prize has really grown in stature over the years and now we see international press and the music industry recognizing the title as an important and respected accolade.”

The winner will be picked at a ceremony in Cardiff on October 20th.
