The Rolling Stones have unveiled a lyric video for the track 2000 Light Years From Home which will feature on a new edition of Their Satanic Majesties Request, which is out to mark its 50th anniversary on September 22nd.

Seen as their flirtation with the fading memories of the Summer Of Love, the Stones’ sixth studio album ushered in an incredible run of classic LPs from the band during the next few years when their focus returned to the blues, but itself is now widely remembered as a poor imitation of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Despite this, Keith Richards not too long ago described the Fab Four’s much more lauded effort as ‘a mishmash of rubbish’.

“The Beatles sounded great when they were The Beatles,” he said during an interview with Esquire. “But there’s not a lot of roots in that music. I think they got carried away.”

“Some people think it’s a genius album, but I think it’s a mishmash of rubbish, kind of like, ‘Oh, if you can make a load of s**t, so can we’.”
