Not long now until the new LCD Soundsystem album American Dream – to keep our attention piqued until September 1st is a video for Tonite, directed by Joel Kefali.
This new LP’s creation was thoroughly documented by James Murphy on social media after he restarted the band in 2015, and he gave notice of its completion back in May this year. “This is just a note to say that we’re done with the record,” he said on Facebook.
“Like, totally done with the music and mixing. Just some art stuff to finish, but it’s been mastered already and the lacquers are winging their way to the pressing plant (which is, I think, where they’ll make the mothers and stampers, etc).”
“I’ve been wrangling the fastest route between final mix and record release for the past few weeks so that there isn’t such a lag, and I think it’ll be soon.”
The album is out on a European tour in September, when it will visit the UK for shows in Manchester, Glasgow and London. There’s also a hop across the Irish Sea for a gig at the Olympia in Dublin.
