An official trailer has been released for the new Morrissey biopic England Is Mine, which is about to close the 71st edition of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
“Morrissey is one of Britain’s most iconic artists, and this delve into his formative years is a witty and enthralling look at a great music talent,” EIFF Artistic Director Mark Adams has said.
“The world premiere of England Is Mine will be a perfect way to wrap this year’s Festival.”
The premiere is due to take place on July 2nd, giving a first look at the film which culminates in the famously unassuming meeting between Morrissey and Johnny Marr but spends most of its runtime looking at the singer’s trials and tribulations on the fringes of Manchester’s music scene during the years prior to this life-changing moment.
