Noel Gallagher, Jehnny Beth join Damon Albarn for Gorillaz TV performance

Both Noel Gallagher and Savages’ Jehnny Beth reprised their studio roles on We Got The Power as they joined Damon Albarn for a live Gorillaz performance last night.

All three were on the UK’s Graham Norton Show to help push the new album Humanz, airing a track which Albarn has previously said began life as the ‘ultimate self-congratulatory Britpop moment’.

“At one point, that track was Noel, me and Graham Coxon,” he explained to Rolling Stone. “It was the ultimate self-congratulatory Britpop moment. It was the victory lap, these geezers singing about all the power they had.”

“I went back and opted to doing it like you play something at the end of a film, as the credits roll. Jehnny Beth was necessary. The testosterone levels were off the scale.”
