“We wrote this song at about the same time as Distance Runner and Operation Margarine, and we’ve been dying to release this for about three years,” lead singer Gareth Roberts has said of Man & The Echo‘s latest track to be taken from their cracking self-titled debut album.

“The song is about a wedding that gets spoiled when the middle class groom’s family are snobby about the working class bride and hers,” they continue on Very Personally Yours.

“Our manager has said that he does not want to know whether this is based on a true story or not as it would spoil the mystery of the song for him, so I can’t say here as he’ll see it and then he’ll know. But we did used to moonlight as a function band, and so did go to a lot of weddings.”
