One of the previously unheard outtakes from The Beatles‘ Sgt Pepper’s sessions has been released.

Take 9 of the title-track Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is up on YouTube to give an idea of the 34 previously unreleased recordings in total which will be a part of a new, expanded edition of the landmark album from May 26th to mark its 50th anniversary.

“It’s crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art,” Paul McCartney has said, while Ringo Starr added:

“‘Sgt. Pepper’ seemed to capture the mood of that year, and it also allowed a lot of other people to kick off from there and to really go for it.”

The LP will be presented in a newly mixed version by Giles Martin, son of George, and Sam Okell, while the super deluxe edition has goodies stretched over a six CD/DVD package.
