The Afghan Whigs will release their ‘spooky’ new album In Spades on May 5th.

“It’s a spooky record,” believes frontman Greg Dulli. “I like that it’s veiled. It’s not a concept album per se, but as I began to assemble it, I saw an arc and followed it.”

“To me it’s about memory – in particular, how quickly life and memory can blur together.”

The lead single Demon In Profile is streaming below and was, along with other album tracks such Oriole, Copernicus, Arabian Heights and Toy Automatic, recorded in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Memphis and Joshua Tree.

The Afghan Whigs are in the UK and Ireland for a few dates this May; they play the Manchester Cathedral (26th), the ABC in Glasgow (27th), Dublin’s Academy (28th) and finally the London Koko on May 20th.
