LCD Soundsystem will settle into a five-date New York residency next month.
James Murphy is to play the Brooklyn Steel venue between April 6th-11th, these shows confirmed shortly after he said the new album promised upon the band’s return last year is ‘still being worked on’ but will ‘be done soon’.
He talked of a strong desire to record new material not long after the band’s comeback was scheduled for Coachella 2016, writing on their official website that he was planning no ‘victory lap’.
“We’re not just playing Coachella, we’re playing all over,” he wrote. “We’re not just having some reunion tour. We’re releasing a record (sometime this year—still working on it, actually), so this isn’t a victory lap or anything, which wouldn’t be of much interest to us.”
