Damon Albarn will elicit the live return of Gorillaz at a brand new festival which he has curated with co-conspirator Jamie Hewlett.
Demon Dayz is to be headlined by Albarn’s acclaimed, animated side project, with three stages of eclectic artists set to be confirmed soon for the Dreamland amusement park in Margate on Saturday, June 10th. It’ll all go out live too around the world via Red Bull TV.
The next Gorillaz record should be just around the corner and had its foundations laid late last year by a series of Instagram posts which detailed the fictional story of how their fifth album was initiated. The Book Of Noodle began by name-checking their 2010 record Plastic Beach in saying that Noodle had ‘drifted away from Plastic Beach to safety, or so she thought’.
