Liam Gallagher‘s live plans for 2017 in support of a debut solo album are continuing to emerge.
The former Oasis frontman has been added to the line-up for Norway’s Bergenfest between June 14th-17th next year, and organisers are suitably chuffed.
“For everyone who loves British rock, vocalist and frontman Liam Gallagher is one of the definitively greatest of the last twenty years,” the event’s Frank Nes is quoted as saying on gaffa.no. “To experience him with his new solo project on the grass at Bergenhus Festning on a summer night in June is something we look forward to with a great deal of expectation.
“It is simply just really fun. This is the vocalist of the world’s biggest band from the 90s and 2000s, Oasis, we’re talking about here.”
“This is simply just huge,” Bergens Tidende states. “When we get the chance to book Liam Gallagher, you can’t say no. We have received a list of artist he doesn’t want to share the stage with, without me getting to specific about just that. “It’s amazing that we get the first festival concert.”
Hi, this is the forum user shoreline who posted about this on the live4ever forum. I have clearified in a new post that the second quote was from the newspaper Bergens Tidende, and not the official website of the festival. The newspaper has changed some of the quotes they use, but the announcement and the story is the same. I’ve also translated what it does say on the official website of the festival, as well as some new quotes from another norwegian newspaper. See my post for more details and the quotes I’ve mentioned :).
Cheers shoreline
