William Doyle has released some new music under his own name after putting the Mercury nominated East India Youth moniker out to pasture.

Proceeds from the The Dream Derealised instrumental album will go towards the mental health charity Mind. It was recorded in Brighton last summer, as Doyle has explained on Bandcamp:

“This was made at a time when doing something creative in a quick and immediate fashion felt vital, and doing so helped carry me to a new place. I’m releasing them now as a cathartic measure, and as a message for others who may be going through difficult times themselves.”

“What I told myself at the time, what I can tell you now: You are not in danger. You are not going insane. You are not alone.”

Doyle put East India Youth on an indefinite break earlier this year after releasing two albums including the debut Total Strife Forever which was on the shortlist for the 2014 Mercury Prize.
