Vaccines’ Arni Arnason to play London gig with Drew McConnell, ex-bandmate Pete Robertson

Vaccines bassist Arni Arnason has recruited Babyshambles‘ Drew McConnell and his former bandmate, drummer Pete Robertson for a gig at London’s Popular Culture club night on October 28th.

It’s part of his new venture, simply billed as Arni, which he’s pushing as an ‘outlet’, not a ‘project’.

“A project implies a goal or a result of some description and I think I’m approaching this in the absolute opposite way,” he says. “I want to do this as un-pro and as ‘for the f**k of it’ as I can. This is not a Project, but an Outlet.”

“It’s simple and honest. I haven’t got a strategy – let alone a release – in mind. I’ve always just made music for the f**k of it and I’ll release it if and whenever I want to.”
