The Rolling Stones have revealed a short clip from their new album Blue & Lonesome.

The abridged cut of Hate To See You Go is a sampler of the blues covers which were recorded by the band with producer Don Was over three days at London’s British Grove Studios. Tracks by legendary blues artists such as Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter and Jimmy Reed were laid down, while Eric Clapton guests on Little Johnny Taylor‘s Everybody Knows About My Good Thing and Otis Rush‘s I Can’t Quit You Baby.

Ronnie Wood discussed the sessions earlier this year, explaining how the band once again got preoccupied with the blues when back in the studio.“They really sound authentic,” he said. “We went in to cut some new songs, which we did. But we got on a blues streak.”

“We cut 11 blues in two days. When we heard them back after not hearing them for a couple of months, we were, ‘Who’s that?. ‘It’s you’. It sounded so authentic.”
