Nick Valensi: The Strokes are ‘slowly but surely working on an album’

Nick Valensi has again reassured Strokes fans the resurgence in activity from the band is continuing apace.

Despite starting his own CRX project, and bandmate Nikolai Fraiture‘s new Summer Moon venture, the attention paid to their chief muse during this year – live shows, EPs and all – is still very much there, Valensi telling NME last month: “The Strokes are alive and well and living in New York City. We are working on music and we want to hopefully put music out next year.”

These are sentiments he’s now shared with DIY, talking of how the band are ‘slowly but surely working on an album’.

“I don’t know when it’s going to be released, we’re kind of just in writing sessions. We’re writing. I’m actually in New York at the moment, at a studio in New York for that.”

Valensi’s CRX release their debut album New Skin, produced by Josh Homme, on October 28th.
