Liam Gallagher has said the prospects of an Oasis reunion lie solely at the feet of his elder brother Noel.

In conversation with Johnny Vaughan for Radio X yesterday evening, Liam faced the inevitable questions about his first band ever getting back together, and insisted any petty online bickering is insignificant when compared to what he sees as the biggest obstacle in the way of a reformation.

“This is a serious question and I’m not bringing the mood down,” he’s quoted as saying by NME.

“Our kid’s going around like I’ve stabbed his cat. He wants to be in a solo band. If people think me having a dig on Twitter is what’s stopping the band getting back together, they’re mad.”

“If they want the band to get back together they’ll have to ask our kid. It’s down to our kid.”

After Oasis split in 2009, Liam Gallagher formed Beady Eye but faced another break-up two albums on in 2014. He’s now pressing ahead with a first solo record, expected next year.
