Bob Dylan has not officially responded to his Nobel Prize win

Bob Dylan has not officially responded to his Nobel Prize win, and may not turn up to the ceremony in Sweden to collect his award.

Dylan gave no reference to his Nobel Prize in Literature triumph while performing live last week, and it seems the Academy’s permanent secretary Sara Danius is being met with equally stony silence.

“Right now we are doing nothing,” she told state radio SR (via The Guardian). “I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough.”

“I am not at all worried. I think he will show up. If he doesn’t want to come, he won’t come. It will be a big party in any case and the honour belongs to him.”

Dylan will be honoured for being a ‘great poet in the English tradition’ in Stockholm on December 10th if he deems it necessary to attend.
