Bob Dylan addresses Nobel Prize win, describes it as ‘incredible’

Sara Danius will be relieved – Bob Dylan has finally responded to his awarding of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Dylan has described the honour as ‘incredible’, and said he is willing to attend the prize giving ceremony in Sweden in December ‘if it’s at all possible’.

“It’s hard to believe,” he said, “amazing, incredible. Whoever dreams about something like that?”

This will be music to the ears of the Academy’s permanent secretary Danius, who was getting a bit edgy last week as Dylan’s steadfast silence to Mr. A Nobel continued. “Right now we are doing nothing,” she told state radio SR. “I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough.”

“If he doesn’t want to come, he won’t come. It will be a big party in any case and the honour belongs to him.”
