Kevin Parker‘s in no rush to wave goodbye to Tame Impala‘s ‘Currents‘ record, and who can blame him?
The more synth-led, personal nature of last year’s third studio album delivered yet more gushing praise as the next stage of the band, which had begun life by launching an Aussie pysch invasion with ‘Innerspeaker‘ and then simply grabbed the mainstream by the scruff of the neck in 2012 through ‘Lonerism‘, welcomed in more friends in high places, collaborations and warm words from the likes of Lady Gaga.
And so, back on television he was again just recently with a live performance of ‘The Less I Know The Better’ on Jimmy Kimmel’s US chat show – have a watch below.
Like most, we cottoned on to the brilliance of ‘Currents’ nice and early, immediately declaring it ‘one of the best albums of 2015 – a creative and artistic triumph‘.
